Short description
A free, offline pro wrestling game you play with one thumb. Win three-minute matches and build a wrestling career to the world title. iPhone and Android.
About the game
Heel Turn is a retro pro wrestling game you play with one thumb. Lock up, reverse, kick out at two and hit your finisher in three-minute matches, then build a wrestling career across three territories, from a small-town armory to the world title. Pixel art, a story with choices, and no wifi needed.
Every lock-up, reversal, rebound and kick-out is a timed tap or swipe on the bottom of the screen: no button mashing, no virtual joystick. Between matches the career runs a week at a time, and the first year is a written story. The whole game is free, with no ads, no in-app purchases, no energy timers and no account.
Features
- One-thumb wrestling: tap and swipe timing for lock-ups, reversals, rebounds and kick-outs.
- Strikes, slams, suplexes, whips and holds; fill the crowd, then hit one of 20 finishers, from a shooting star press to a moonsault.
- Arcade matches of about three minutes, made for a bus ride.
- Create a wrestler: name, look, colours, hometown, style and finisher.
- A career a week at a time: train, cut a promo, rest up or scout the next opponent.
- Three territories, each with its own ring, rivals and belt; steel cage matches, two-out-of-three falls, gauntlets and a tournament.
- Injuries, rivals who remember you, and more seasons after the world title, until retirement and the Hall of Fame.
- Pixel art with every move animated, ring entrances, a referee who counts the pin, and an instant replay of the big finish.
The story
It starts in 1979, in the front row of the Harbor City Armory, with a kid, a sign and a hero. Then a rookie year written for the player: a monster, a partner who turns, a tournament, and choices that come back later.
